Lastochka Mineral Water Source
The Lastochka mineral water source is located in Primorsky Krai, on the Bikin-Ussuri Lowland, which stretches alongside the Sikhote-Alin mountain range (the name means “Range of the Great Western Rivers” in Manchu).
Lastochka is protected by the state. A three-zone sanitary protection area covering 3,893 hectares has been established around the source, with restrictions on human activity.

ARTESIAN Wells
The first artesian wells at the source were drilled in 1932–1933. Before that, the water was drawn from an ordinary well.
In 1959, a geological expedition drilled Well No. 546 to a depth of 100.2 m. It is still in use today and supplies Lastochka water.
In 1990, a 50-meter-deep Well No. 201 was drilled on the eastern flank of the source. It supplies Lastochka 201 water.
Well No. 37 103, which supplies Acti water, is located directly on the Lastochka plant site, 2 km from the main source.

LASTOCHKA SPRING
Just as it was 100 years ago, Lastochka can still be bought and tasted directly at the well — drawn straight from deep underground, with its characteristic hydrogen sulfide smell and distinctive iron taste.
Water drawn directly from the well does not pass through the plant's filtration system and contains a high concentration of iron, so it quickly darkens when exposed to oxygen and cannot be stored for long.
If you are driving along the Ussuri Highway (Khabarovsk–Vladivostok), stop at the Lastochka well and taste water infused with the history of the Russian Far East as much as with minerals.
